Penny is designed for individuals to manage their own pensions—but we understand you might want to help a loved one. Here’s what you need to know. ⬇️
Can I sign up for someone else?
No. You must only sign up for Penny using your own personal details. Every account is linked to your identity, and you’ll be asked to sign documents and confirm information that only you can legally provide.
If you try to open an account for someone else—even if your intentions are good—it will be flagged and the account will be blocked from any transactions. 🛡️
What if I have a Power of Attorney (POA)? 💼
If you hold a registered Power of Attorney, we may be able to support you with managing someone’s pension. In this case, you must contact us directly. We’ll need to verify your POA documents and identity before anything can move forward. You can do this through sending an email with a copy of the document to support@pennypension.com.
What if the person has passed away? 🪦
We know you may want to help manage the pensions of someone who has died, but Penny cannot process any requests on behalf of a deceased person through our app. If an account is set up in their name, it will be flagged as potential fraud.
This is because signing documents on behalf of someone who is deceased is not legally valid unless you're the official personal representative and go through the correct process.
