Are you sure that you have a pension but Penny couldn't get information about it? ❌

If you provide our support team with the provider name and the policy number via live chat, they will then be able to get information on the pension and transfer it into your Penny account βœ…

How do I find out my provider's name? 🧐

If you are sure you have a pension from an old job but have lost track of the paperwork, the likelihood is you won't even know the provider's name. The best thing to do here is to call up your old employer and ask the name of the pension scheme you were enrolled into. πŸ“ž

You can also check the free government tracing service.

Finding out your policy number πŸ”

You have a few options here depending on your circumstance.

  • If you have an old letter from your provider, you should be able to see this on the letter, eg "123456789" πŸ“

This is usually in the top right-hand corner and could be called: account number, customer number, reference number, policy number etc.

  • If you hold no old letters or can't find this unique number on your letter anywhere, you can call up the provider and request to be given this. πŸ“ž

You will need to provide a few personal details like your name, NI number, address and date of birth to pass security. So have these ready.

The more information about your pension (e.g. fund value, any protected benefits and contribution dates), you can pass over to our team, the better. πŸ‘

You can find a list of common provider phone numbers here.

  • Alternatively, you may be able to log in to your account on the provider's website portal. From there you should be able to find out your policy number and further pension details. 🌍

A link to your account may be in an email the provider has previously sent. βœ‰οΈ

Let our team know your provider name and policy number πŸ’¬

Once you've found your policy number, tap on the provider's name in the Penny app, add your policy number and once you're done we'll automatically reach out to your provider again with this extra information. βœ…
