When you add a new employee to PeopleHR, change an existing employee's working pattern, or process them as a leaver, their holiday entitlement recalculates.
Holiday entitlement calculation
The tables below outline the pro-rata calculation PeopleHR uses, depending on the calculation area and whether the holidays are recorded in days or hours.
New starters
Recorded in days | Recorded in hours |
Full-time entitlement * Weekly working pattern scheduled days / Working days * Number of weeks remaining in the year / 52 | Full-time entitlement * Contracted hours/Full-time hours * Number of weeks remaining in the year / 52 |
Change in working pattern
Recorded in days | Recorded in hours |
Full-time entitlement * Weekly working pattern scheduled days / Working days * Number of weeks remaining in the year / 52 + Pro-rata calculation as per employee's previous work pattern | Full-time entitlement * Contracted hours/ Full-time hours * Number of weeks remaining in the year / 52 + Pro-rata calculation as per employee's previous work pattern |
πNote: Although the calculation displays 52 remaining weeks, the entitlement is based on the number of days left in the year out of 365, or 366 in a leap year.
