Scheduling changes with effective dates

Schedule system changes on specific dates.

Pre-schedule changes to one of the employee fields listed below without having to wait until the date the change is due to enter it into PeopleHR.

Fields you can schedule changes for

You can schedule changes to the following employee fields can to occur on a future date:

  • Company

  • Department

  • Location

  • Employment type

  • Reports to

  • Job role

Schedule a change

When a change is made to one of these fields, except the first time it is set, you must set an effective date for the change to take place.
If the effective date is set as today’s date or before, the field updates immediately, and the change is added to the history.
To schedule a change to happen on a future date:

  1. Enter the new value for the field.

  2. Enter the effective date.

  3. Select the date you wish the change to occur.

📌Note: The table below displays the details of the scheduled change. The change happens automatically at the start of the day the change is scheduled for.

Cancel a scheduled change

If a field has a scheduled change that you'd like to cancel, simply the x icon on the table row you want to cancel.

If you have two changes with the same effective date

If there is more than one scheduled change with the same effective date, the one that was entered more recently will take effect on the scheduled date. Find the date and time entered on the history pop-up.

Integrations

For fields that are sent for integrations with other products, the changes are sent via the integration on the date the change is scheduled for.
