Setting up an A/B test in PerfectMatch: AI Shopping Quiz takes just a few minutes. You'll need one published quiz (Version A) and one unpublished draft to test against it (Version B).
Step 1: Prepare your test version
Go to My Quizzes and use the Copy action on your published quiz to duplicate it.
Open the copy in the quiz builder and make your changes — question wording, results, design, or whatever you want to test.
Keep the copy unpublished. It will only be shown to visitors in the test.
Step 2: Set up the test
Open A/B test in the navigation and click Set up an A/B test.
Enter a Test name (e.g., "Holiday quiz A/B test").
Choose Version A (current live version) — the published quiz your visitors currently see.
Choose Version B (new version to test) — your unpublished draft.
Pick your Primary success metric: Completion rate, Conversion rate, or Revenue per view.
Set the Traffic split with the slider — from 10/90 to 90/10, default 50/50.
Optionally set an End date — the test stops automatically on that date. Leave it blank to run the test until you stop it manually.
If you set an end date, you can also tick Automatically publish a winner when the test ends. The version with more conversions wins and is published automatically; if it's a tie, Version A is kept.
Click Set up test. The test is saved as a draft.
Step 3: Start the test
Click Start test on the test's detail page (or choose Start from the menu in the test list). Your traffic is now split between the two versions.
Managing a running test
Pause stops the test temporarily; all visitors see Version A again. Click Start to resume.
Edit (available while the test is a draft or paused) lets you change the name, metric, traffic split, end date, and auto-declare setting. Traffic split changes on a paused test take effect when it resumes.
End test finishes the test — see "How do I read A/B test results and declare a winner?".
Good to know
The two versions can't be swapped after the test is created — create a new test to compare different quizzes.
While a test is active, the quizzes in it can't be separately published, unpublished, or archived. End the test first.
