This guide walks you through every step of setting up your Fast Feedback module—from basic configuration and naming, through to email notifications, empty states, and page alerts. By the end, you'll have a fully configured module ready to launch, with clear guidance on making feedback easy and engaging for your people. We've structured this as a series of practical "how to" sections, each addressing a specific aspect of configuration.
How do I access the Fast Feedback module settings?
The Fast Feedback module lives in your admin settings, where you'll control everything from visibility to naming conventions.
Go to Settings → General
Scroll to the Applications section, which lists your modules (Fast Feedback appears as Feedback)
How do I change where Fast Feedback appears in my navigation menu?
You can customise the position of Fast Feedback in your navigation menu by simply dragging and dropping.
Drag the Fast Feedback module to your preferred position in the module list
Refresh the page to see the updated navigation menu
How do I enable or disable the module?
Toggle the module on or off depending on whether you're ready to launch or need to pause access.
Click Configure next to the module to open Feedback Settings
In App Overview, use the Module Status toggle to enable or disable it for all users
Refresh the page to see changes reflected in your navigation
How do I rename the module to match our firm's language?
Make the module feel at home by renaming it to match your internal terminology—whether that's 'Feedback', 'Recognition', or something else entirely.
In App Overview, click the pencil icon next to Module Name
Enter your preferred name (e.g. 'Feedback' or 'Recognition')
Save and refresh to see the change
What core settings should I configure?
The core operational settings are on the Configuration tab of Feedback Settings, including Feedback for Good, request expiry, and soft limits.
Feedback for Good
Feedback for Good — where feedback activity translates into charitable donations — is configured by the CSR settings: CSR Target, CSR Campaign Start Month, and CSR Enabled. Turn it on and set the target and campaign period here. Speak with your Customer Success Manager for more information about this feature.
Request expiry
Request Expiry sets how long feedback requests remain visible before expiring — the value is in days (for example, 120). We recommend around 60–120 days to keep inboxes tidy and focused.
Soft limit for requests
Feedback Request Soft Limit gently notifies users when they're requesting feedback from someone who has already received several requests that week. It doesn't prevent requests — it just adds helpful context. Set a number, or -1 for unlimited.
How do I adjust language settings across the platform?
Change how 'Fast Feedback' is referred to throughout the platform. Your chosen term will be automatically applied in the appropriate tense wherever the system references this feature.
Navigate to the Language section
Replace 'Fast Feedback' with your preferred term (e.g. 'Recognition')
Save your changes
How do I set up email notifications?
Email notifications are configured on the Emails tab of Feedback Settings. Set the defaults for Fast Feedback activities here; users can later customise their own preferences through their profile settings.
Available notification types
Feedback given: Notifies users when they've successfully given feedback
Feedback requests received: Alerts users to new requests with a direct link to respond
Feedback requests declined: Informs users when a request has been declined
Manager notifications: Alerts managers when their direct reports receive feedback
Configuring individual notifications
For each notification type, you can set:
Status: Enabled or disabled
Default: Whether it's on or off by default
User control: Whether users can enable/disable it themselves
Email sensitivity: Whether users with proxy access can view these emails (we recommend 'Normal' for Fast Feedback)
You can also customise the email name, description, subject line, and body content to match your firm's tone.
How can users manage their own notifications?
Users click on their profile (bottom left of any page)
Navigate to Settings and Notifications
Adjust preferences for each notification type you've made user-configurable
How do I customise empty states?
Empty states are what users see when they first access the Fast Feedback module before any activity has taken place. This is a powerful opportunity to set expectations and provide guidance.
Open the Empty States tab in Feedback Settings
Update the default text to reflect your firm's language and expectations
Consider including examples of good feedback or minimum expectations
Save your changes
Similar messages appear when users filter their feedback dashboard and no results are found—another chance to encourage engagement.
How do I create page alerts?
Page alerts display prominently at the top of the Fast Feedback module, perfect for highlighting campaigns or important information.
Open the Page Alert tab
Click to create a new alert
Choose a colour for the alert banner
Write your message (keep it concise—you want to inform, not overwhelm)
Save as a draft to review, or click Enable to make it live immediately
Your alert will appear at the top of the module, catching users' attention without pushing down the core feedback content.
What should I do next?
Now that you've configured your Fast Feedback module settings, you're ready to set up feedback templates. Watch the next video in this series to learn how to create templates that guide users to give meaningful, actionable feedback.
