Act as a user within a review

This guide shows admins how to log in as users or supervisors at any step in the review process for testing and support purposes.

Need to troubleshoot a review step or assist a user with their inputs? Acting as a user within a review allows you to log in as any participant at any stage of the review process.

Note that all proxy access will be logged within Performance Leader.

How to act as a user in a review

The "act as user" feature allows you to log in as the person responsible for a particular review step. This means you'll see exactly what they see and can complete actions on their behalf if needed.

  1. From the Reviews Dashboard, click on Enrolment to see the list of users participating in reviews.

  2. Find the user whose review you want to access and click on the pencil icon next to their name.

  3. An options panel will appear. Look for the option to log in as the user who is responsible for that step.

  4. Click this option to log in as the appropriate person for the current review step.

Understanding which account you'll access

The account you log in as depends on which step the user is currently at in their review process. This is important to understand, as you may log in as the user themselves or as their supervisor.

Example: If Ray is at step 2 of his review and you choose to act as Ray at this step, you'll actually log in as Ray's supervisor (Katie), because she is responsible for step 2.

If you move Ray back to step 1 and save the changes, the options panel will update. Now when you act as the responsible user at step 1, you'll log in as Ray himself, because he is responsible for completing step 1.

Tips for using this feature effectively

  • Always check which step the user is currently at before acting as them, so you know which account you'll be accessing.

  • Use this feature to test the review experience from different perspectives—both the reviewee and the reviewer.

  • This is particularly useful for troubleshooting issues or providing hands-on support to users who are stuck.

  • Remember that you can move users between steps as needed to access different accounts in the review process.
