Upload or edit imported data against a single user

Learn how to manually upload imported data for individual users in Performance Leader.

Bringing external data into Performance Leader is straightforward, whether you're working with a single user or managing multiple employees. This guide walks you through the manual process of uploading imported data for individual users—perfect when you need to add or update data for specific team members. We'll cover how to access the Data Manager, select the right employee, upload data points, and verify everything is displaying correctly in your review.

Accessing Employee Imported Data

Data Utilities is your central hub for managing all imported employee data. Here's how to find it:

  1. Open Utilities → Data Utilities.

  2. Find the Review and RemCom data import card.

  3. Click View existing data to open the Employee Imported Data screen.

If you haven't uploaded data for any users yet, the system will indicate that no users have data available. Don't worry—this is where you'll start building your data repository.

Adding data for an individual employee

Once you're in the Employee Imported Data section, you can quickly add information for specific users:

  1. Click Add Employee.

  2. Search for or scroll through the list to find the employee you want to add data for.

  3. Select the employee to open their data entry form.

The data fields you see will correspond to the data points you've configured in your review builder. For example, you might see fields like "Moderation meeting notes" or "Rating outcome". These labels are designed to match exactly what you've set up in your review structure.

Uploading and managing data points

With your employee selected, you can now input the relevant data:

  1. Identify which data fields you need to complete. These will match the imported data fields configured in your review builder.

  2. Enter the information for each relevant field (for example, moderation notes, ratings, or any other custom data points).

  3. Click Add Employee Data to save.

  4. The uploaded data will now appear in the dashboard view.

Tip: You can toggle which columns are visible in the dashboard to make it easier to review and verify the information you've uploaded.

Verifying data in the review

After uploading, it's important to confirm everything is displaying correctly:

  1. Navigate back to your review page.

  2. Refresh the page to ensure the latest data loads.

  3. Check that your newly uploaded data points are visible in the relevant sections of the review.

The data should now be accessible to the appropriate users according to your review configuration.

Additional options

The Employee Imported Data screen offers several useful functions for managing your imported data at scale:

  • Bulk upload data: When you need to upload information for multiple employees at once, use the bulk upload feature (covered in a separate guide).

  • Clear All: Remove all imported data if you need to start fresh or correct errors.

  • Export currently available data: Download your imported data for record-keeping or analysis.

These options give you complete control over your imported data, making it easy to manage both small updates and large-scale data operations.

Next steps

Now that you're comfortable with manually uploading data for individual users, you might want to explore bulk data import for managing multiple employees simultaneously. This is particularly useful during review cycles when you need to import data for large groups. Check out our guide on bulk data import to learn more about that process.
