Whether you're importing financial metrics, project data, or other performance indicators, this guide will walk you through the bulk import process step by step. By the end, you'll know how to upload a CSV file, map your data fields, validate your import, and manage the data once it's in the system.
There are two main ways to import and present data in Reviews - consider whether Financial metrics or Imported data is better for your needs. Speak to your CSM about which approach is the best user and admin experience.
Accessing Data Utilities
Data Utilities is your central hub for importing and managing external data that will appear in performance reviews.
Open Utilities → Data Utilities.
Find the Review and RemCom data import card (its data appears on the Employee Imported Data screen).
Click View existing data to see any data already uploaded against employees.
Preparing your import file
Before you begin the import process, you'll need a CSV file with your data properly formatted.
If you don't have a template, click Download Sample Template in the importer. This provides a CSV with all available import fields.
Populate your CSV with the data you want to import. Don't worry if your file includes more fields than you need—the system will only import what you map in the next steps.
Save your file and keep it handy for upload.
Uploading and mapping your data
The CSV importer guides you through four clear steps: upload, map, validate, and import.
Step 1: Upload your file
Click Launch importer on the Review and RemCom data import card.
Click Browse Files to locate your CSV file (or drag it in).
You'll see a preview of the first five rows—this helps you verify you've selected the correct file.
Click Next to continue.
Step 2: Map your fields
The system will display your CSV column headers alongside the available fields in Performance Leader.
You can manually map each field by selecting the corresponding Performance Leader field from the dropdown menus.
Alternatively, click Auto-Map to let the system automatically match fields based on column names. This saves considerable time when your headers align with Performance Leader's field names.
Review the mappings to ensure they're correct, then click Next.
Step 3: Edit and validate
The system will show you a preview of exactly what will be imported for each user.
If any errors are detected (such as invalid user IDs), they'll be highlighted here.
You can make corrections directly in the system at this stage—no need to go back to your original file for minor changes.
If you've made extensive edits, you can export the corrected data for your records.
When you're satisfied with the data, click Next.
Step 4: Run the import
Review the final summary of changes that will be made.
Click Import Data to complete the process.
You'll see a confirmation message when the import has completed successfully.
Verifying your imported data
Once the import is complete, it's good practice to verify that the data appears correctly in reviews.
Navigate to a review that should contain the imported data.
Refresh the page to ensure you're seeing the most up-to-date information.
Check that the external data fields are populated correctly.
Managing existing imported data
After your import, you can view, edit, or remove data as needed.
Go to Data Utilities → Review and RemCom data import → View existing data (the Employee Imported Data screen).
You'll see all imported data organised by user.
From here, you can: - Edit individual data entries by clicking on them. - Delete data for specific users. - Clear All imported data if you need to start fresh.
This flexibility means you can keep your performance reviews updated as new data becomes available throughout the review period.
