People (Trajectory)

Browse and filter every employee’s cross-cycle trajectory profile — archetype, readiness, arc summary, and trajectory direction at a glance.

The People view on the Trajectory tab is your card-based browse of the cohort. Where Trajectory Overview gives you the rolled-up shape, People gives you the individual stories — one card per employee.

What this page answers

Across all the employees Compass has trajectory data for: what does each individual’s cross-cycle profile look like? Who’s a Rising Star, who’s Stalled, who’s At Risk?

What’s on the page

One card per employee

Each card shows:

  • Avatar and name with job title

  • Stat strip of four signals:

  • Arc summary — A short narrative Compass wrote describing the employee’s trajectory in plain language (e.g., “Climbed from solid to exceptional over three cycles with steady client growth.”)

  • A profile arrow on the right of the card to drill into full detail

20 cards per page, with prev/next pagination.

Filtering and searching

  • Search box — Real-time search across name, department, archetype, trajectory, readiness, and the arc summary text. This means you can search by narrative — typing “client growth” will find people whose arc summary mentions it.

  • Trajectory filter — Multi-select checkboxes: Accelerating, Steady, Declining.

  • Archetype filter — Multi-select: Rising Star, Emerging, Pillar, Solid Core, Cooling, Stalled, At Risk, Volatile.

  • Progression Readiness filter — Multi-select: Ready Now, Developing, Consolidating, Not Ready, Insufficient Data.

Filters combine with AND logic. Workspace-wide attribute filters (department, role, location) also apply.

Where the data comes from

Every card on this page comes from one per-employee trajectory record — the trajectory synthesis Compass produces. The fields you see (trajectory, archetype, readiness, arc summary) are all stored values, not computed on the page.

The arc summary is the only free-text field — Compass wrote it in plain English. The other stat strip values are categorical signals.

How to read it

  • Use search liberally. It’s the fastest way to find a specific person or a narrative pattern.

  • Filter to “Ready Now” + “Accelerating” for promotion shortlists. This is the clearest signal of “ready and trending right”.

  • Filter to “At Risk” + “Declining” for intervention lists. These are the people who need a conversation soon.

  • Cards aren’t a verdict. Click into someone’s profile to read the underlying reviews, see their cycle history, and confirm the signal.

What about employees with only one cycle?

Trajectory needs at least 2 primary-classified reviews per employee. If someone has only one cycle of data, they won’t appear here — not enough to identify a direction. This typically excludes:

  • New hires with only their first review

  • People who skipped cycles

  • People whose only cycles were “minimal” classification (light interim reviews)

If you expect someone to be on this page and they aren’t, check their cycle history first.

Tips

  • Cards are browseable, not exportable. This page is for orientation and individual lookup. For data extraction, use the underlying datasets or the Reviews tab’s People lens.

  • The arc summary is the single most useful field. Read 20 of them and you’ll learn more about the cohort than from any chart.

  • The People filters apply to this view only. The sidebar’s Trajectory, Archetype and Progression Readiness checkboxes filter these cards, not the other Trajectory pages. To narrow every page at once, use the workspace-wide attribute filters instead.
