Once you've imported financial data, it's worth checking that every figure has landed and displays as intended before it appears in a review. This guide covers two ways to review it: a quick admin view for spot-checks and edits, and acting as a person to see exactly what they'll see. By the end, you'll be confident your imported data is accurate and ready.
Important: You'll need super admin access to review financial data in the admin views below.
Which method should I use?
Your goal | Use |
Quick spot-checks across people, ad hoc edits, or exporting everything | Way 1 — Managing data view |
Confirm the exact table a person will see in their review | Way 2 — Act as the user |
Way 1: Review in the managing data view
Best for scanning across people, spot-checking figures, making quick edits, and exporting the full dataset.
Getting there
Log in to the Super Admin view.
Go to Utilities > Data Utilities.
On the Financial data import card, select View existing data.
This opens the managing data view — a searchable, filterable list of your people and their financial values.
What you can do here
Find a person — use the search bar, and toggle columns or apply filters (role, department) to focus the list.
Review values — check each person's figures are present and correct across your rows and columns.
Make quick edits — select the pencil icon next to a person, update any value, and select Save. Changes apply immediately.
Add a missing person — select Add Employee, choose the user, and enter their values.
Export the data — select Export to download the full dataset for offline checking or reconciliation.
Tip: For the full detail on editing, clearing, and bulk-updating financial data, see the View, update or clear financial data guide.
Way 2: Review by acting as the user
Best for confirming the end-user experience — this shows the data in the exact table format the person sees inside their review.
Go to Admin > Manage Users to open the User Manager.
Search for the person and select their record.
Select Proxy Login to act as that user, and confirm.
As that user, select their profile in the bottom left, then choose Settings & Extras.
In the Settings & Extras panel, select Financial data (labelled Imported financial information).
Check the table displays correctly — the rows, columns, and values as they'll appear in the review.
Select the yellow banner at the top to return to your own account when you're done.
Note: Each person sees only their own figures, and only the rows and columns that hold data for them — empty rows won't show.
