What is the material used for our Perifit pump’s parts?

Updated over a year ago

All parts that have contact with milk (flange, connector, diaphragm, duckbill valve, o-ring, bottle, bottle cap) undergo food safety testing according to US, European, and certain specific country standards like the German LFGB or the French DGCCRF.

This testing is done to ensure that when our breast pump parts contact with breast milk, there is no leaching of harmful substances into your milk, in accordance with food contact regulations.

All the materials used for milk-contact parts are also tested to ensure that they are BPA-free. More specifically:

  • The silicone parts (flange, diaphragm, duckbill valve, o-rings) are crafted from medical-grade silicone, the highest standard of quality tested for biocompatibility. This ensures not only durability but also safety for both you and your baby.

  • The connector and bottle cap are made of polypropylene.

  • The bottle is made of Tritan (TM).
