This only applies within Perplexity web and does not apply to programatic access via API, which is billed separately.Max Assistant on Comet: Max Assistant is Comet’s next-level mode, powered by cutting-edge reasoning models that intelligently route every request. Designed for reliability and precision, it delivers exceptional results — especially on complex, challenging tasks. With higher completion rates and smarter outputs, Max Assistant is your go-to for mission-critical work. It may take a little longer, but the results are worth the wait. As a Max subscriber, you receive the highest weekly limit on browser agent queries available across all subscription tiers.
Priority Support: Max plan subscribers receive the highest level of support, with dedicated infrastructure and faster response times.
Computer and Credits
As a Max subscriber, you gain access to Computer, Perplexity's independent digital worker that can complete tasks and workflows on your behalf. Computer uses a credit-based system to power its advanced capabilities. Max subscribers receive 10,000 credits monthly. Your Perplexity Ask searches remain unlimited and do not use credits. Credits are used only for Computer tasks and other premium features, with credit consumption varying based on task complexity. You can view your credit balance and usage at perplexity.ai/account/credits, enable auto-refill, and set spending limits. Who can upgrade to Max?
Perplexity Max is currently available only for consumers on a Free or Pro plan.
For Enterprise users, we recommend Enterprise Max, which has been designed for users who need enterprise-grade data security, powerful collaboration tools, and the highest level of access to the latest AI models, and Research search modes, Comet Assistant, and Perplexity’s newest features.
How much does the Max plan cost?
Perplexity Max costs $200/monthly or $2000/annually. Please note, the annual billing option is only available for the web app version.
How do I upgrade to Max (web app upgrade)?
On the web app, you can upgrade by heading to your Settings Page > Account > Subscription > Upgrade Plan
If you subscribed to the Pro plan via the web app, then please use the web app (not Perplexity's mobile apps) to upgrade to Max.
If you upgrade via mobile app, this will create a new separate Max subscription in addition to your ongoing Pro subscription.

If I upgrade from Pro to Max does my balance carry over?
Yes, if you’ve already subscribed via web app we will carry over your balance and bill you the prorated amount for your new subscription. Your upgrade will be effective immediately and you’ll have access to all Max features when you upgrade.
Mobile app upgrades
Android app upgrades: If you have an existing Pro subscription and upgrade to Max via the Android app, Google Play immediately charges the full price of the new subscription. The remaining unused time from the previous subscription is then applied to the new subscription, extending its duration.
iOS app upgrades: If you have an existing Pro subscription and upgrade to Max via the iOS app the remainder of your Pro subscription can be refunded to you. You will have to contact Apple Support with a refund request (Perplexity support does not manage app store subscriptions).
Cancellation and Refunds
EU, UK, or Turkey customers: You are eligible for a refund if the you cancel within 14 days of purchase. This applies to both monthly and annual subscriptions. In the refund request, please specify you are applying for a refund from the EU, UK, or Turkey.
South Korea or Brazil customers: You are eligible for a refund if you cancel your subscription within 7 days of purchase. This applies to both monthly and annual subscriptions. Please specify that you are applying for a refund from South Korea or Brazil in your request.
For all other customers: A refund request window of 24 hours for monthly subscriptions and 48 hours for annual subscription applies. If you cancel within that period, you can request a refund by contacting support@perplexity.ai.
Please note that all other cancellations and downgrades will kick in at the end of your billing cycle. You will continue to have full access to Max features until end of the billing period.
