The feeding advice is based on a normal energy requirement for your dog. The body condition of your dog is the guidance to the actual feeding amount. When needed, you can give more or less in order to keep your dog in optimal condition. It is advised to divide the daily amount of food in two portions. Be sure you provide your dog enough drinking water.
βExamples:
1: A 7,5 kg female pug living in a flat going on walks.
Follow the low activity-table. This gives us 120 grams per day for this dog, divided into two meals = 60 grams per feeding.
2: A 30 kg male labrador, neutered, daily long walks and occasional runs.
Follow the medium activity-table. This gives us 400 grams per day for this dog, divided into two meals = 200 grams per feeding.
3: A 12 kg female kelpie, trains a lot of agility and tracking, runs with owner on bike and is always on high alert.
Follow the high activity-table. This gives us approximately 225 grams per day for this dog, divided into two meals = 113 grams per feeding.
β
βRemember that these are just guidelines - you might have to adjust the amount up or down as there are multiple factors affecting your dog's energy need. Always make adjustments depending on your dog's body condition.
