How do I close out a bill early?

Don’t want to wait until the end of the billing period for your client to get their bill?

No problem! Assuming you're already on the draft bill that you'd like to send out early, simply tap bill now.

A quick heads up before you send

Before tapping bill now, make sure any appointments that have already happened are marked as complete.

  • Completed appointments will be included in the bill

  • Incomplete past appointments in the billing period will not be able to be billed later, unless you do so by manually adding an adjustment onto a future bill

So if a visit already happened but isn’t marked complete yet, it’s best to update it first.

What happens after you “bill now”?

Once the bill is sent, a new draft bill will be created automatically if there are remaining appointments in the current billing period. Any future or newly completed appointments will go on that new bill, which will be sent at the end of your normal billing period.

Example: Let’s say you bill weekly. Your current billing period is Monday, April 13 through Sunday, April 19, and today is Thursday, April 16.

If you tap bill now today:

  • All completed appointments this week through Thursday, April 16, will be billed right away.

  • If you complete another appointment later today, the bill that you just sent will automatically update to include that appointment (since it falls within the same billing period).

  • If you complete another appointment tomorrow, it will be added to a new draft bill for the remainder of the billing period (i.e. Friday, April 17 through Sunday, April 19), which will go out automatically on Monday.
