To help Members understand which Deferred Compensation activities they’re eligible for, we created a chart that outlines activities based on career path.
This chart is intended to show activities matched with career paths at a high level. It’s important to note that some PGA Professionals may be eligible for more (or fewer) activities based on their status and/or specific situations.
The full chart is available here, and can also be accessed via PGA.org or your Member portal.
Teaching & Coaching
PGA Members in the teaching and coaching profession – either entry-level or management level – are eligible for a wide variety of Deferred Compensation activities. These can include PGA Jr. League coaching, team coaching, tournament host or facilitator, and more. Teachers and coaches can also participate in certain DEI activities, philanthropic initiatives (such as Drive, Chip and Putt), volunteering as a mentor or tournament rules official, or facilitating new job opportunities for fellow Members. Please refer to the chart (linked above) for a complete breakdown of eligible activities and which activities can earn points based on your career track.
Golf Operations
PGA Members in the golf operations career track are eligible to participate in several Deferred Compensation activities and earn points throughout the plan year. These activities include PGA Jr. League coaching, inclusive golf communities programs, philanthropic initiatives such as PGA HOPE and Drive, Chip and Putt, volunteering, and more. Please refer to the chart (linked above) for a complete breakdown of eligible activities and which activities can earn points based on your career track.
Executive Golf Management
PGA Members in the golf management career track – either entry-level or managerial – can participate in a range of Deferred Compensation activities throughout the plan year. In the managerial-level golf management track, eligible Members can participate in (and earn points for) any activity listed on the Deferred Compensation Eligible Activities Chart, which is linked above.
Please note that a minimum of 200 points during the plan year is required to begin earning plan funds for Deferred Compensation.
If you have questions about the plan, how to earn points, how points work, or simply need more information, refer to the suite of help and resources articles available within the Member app or on PGA.org or reach out to membership services at deferredcompensation@pgahq.com.
