Phase runs on web and native mobile.

Use Phase at https://www.phase.ag.

Web is best for billing, larger imports, setup and detailed review workflows.

The mobile app is best for quick farm access, paddock review, inventory checks, weather, chat and field use.

Some setup or billing actions may open on web.

You can create a Phase account in the iPhone or Android app: open the app and tap Create account. Team members still join with an access code. Choose Pro or Ultra on the website, during the trial or after it ends; choosing a plan during the trial ends the trial and starts annual billing that day, with full paid access straight away. The apps do not mention plans or cards.

The Android app is Phase Ag in Google Play in Australia. Sign in with the same Phase account you use on the web or an iPhone. Phase asks an Android phone for notifications only once the app from Google Play is up to date; until then everything still shows in More → Notifications, and by email for the kinds you switch email on. See Notifications and reminders below.

On supported iPhones and vehicles, Phase can also show a driving-focused farm map in Apple CarPlay. Open Phase on the phone and let the farm finish syncing before connecting to CarPlay.

Mobile navigation is Overview, Map, Agent, Inventory and More. On a phone held upright the tabs run along the bottom. On a wider screen that is not desktop-wide (an iPad held upright, or a phone turned sideways in the browser) the same tabs, in the same order, run down the side as a rail instead.

On the folding iPhone Duo, the clock, battery and camera run down the side of both screens rather than along the top, so Phase puts its tabs in that same strip, under the clock, the way Apple's own apps do. Nothing sits under the camera, the page gets the full width, pop-ups keep their Close buttons clear of the strip, and opening the phone lets Overview fit three widgets across instead of two. On every other iPhone the tabs stay along the bottom.

On a phone, the first row of More names the organisation you are in, with Switch to change farm (Join another if you only have one). On a computer, Switch organisation (or Join another) sits beside the farm's name at the top of the More page.

More opens with large quick buttons above the lists, on the phone and the computer: Organisation settings (for people who run the organisation; the same page as Organisation under Account), Emergency (for everyone on the farm) and, once the farm has switched on signing on and off, On farm with your own status, such as "Signed on until 5 pm".

Below them, More lists every other page in sections: Farm Setup & Connections, Planning & Imports, Data Centres, Farm Operations, Reports & Sharing, Account, Support and Legal & Privacy. Planning & Imports contains Crop Plan Studio, Crop Plan Import, Actuals Import, Recommendation Import and Templates. Data Centres contains Spatial, Yield Centre, Soil Centre, Weather & Climate, Grain & Hay Storage, Documents and Sensors. Farm Operations has Emergency and On farm beside Safety & People (see Safety And People). Some rows show a figure on the right, such as "2 farms · 44 fields". Unread help messages show as a small number on Help chat, and unread notifications on Notifications. The number on the More tab itself counts unread help messages only; notifications are counted on the bell.

On a computer, More is headed by the farm's name, with your role and email under it. A search box and a section dropdown (All sections, Setup, Planning, Data and so on) sit on one line above the list. Reports opens in place to show its report types. A page opened from More has a Back bar above it, except on a computer where the page already shows its own name.

On desktop, the main navigation includes Plan for Crop Plan Studio. Spatial is opened from More → Data Centres, not from the desktop top navigation.

Crop Plan Studio works on a phone: use the Select button to build up a selection by tapping paddocks, the Agent button opens Ask Phase as a bottom sheet, Compare opens as a full-height sheet, and the change history is under Actions on the selected paddocks. Phase Agent on a phone has one header row with New and Actions, which holds Past conversations; the newest answer opens with its map and summary, and long answers offer Show full answer.

Opening Phase does not download the whole product catalogue every time. Your phone keeps a copy and only fetches it again when the catalogue has changed, so after the first open following an update the Overview appears sooner, and product photos in Inventory, Jobs and Notes show straight away on a return visit.

When the device has no connection, one small grey line under the status bar reads "No connection: using saved data", with the time of the last sync. It disappears the moment the connection returns. There is no yellow "Checking for new data" bar any more; the fetch behind your saved copy still happens quietly. Trying to edit while offline tells you why it cannot save.

The bell at the top of the app holds your notifications. On a computer it is at the top right, left of the farm-and-season button; on a phone it is beside that button at the top of Overview, Map and Inventory. A number on the bell says how many you have not seen.

Tap the bell to see them, newest first, under two tabs:

Each row says what happened, who did it and how long ago; unseen ones say New. Tapping a row marks it read and opens what it is about. Mark all read clears them all, and Notification settings opens More → Notifications.

More → Notifications (under Account) lists everything too: Recent shows what has happened, newest first, and opening the page marks them read. The Notifications row in More shows its own unread number.

Under What to tell you, each kind of notification is one row: its name, when it comes, an example, who gets it, and an on/off switch. When a kind is on, Phone and Email choose how it reaches you; a button filled in with a tick is on. You only see the kinds your role can receive. For example, grain notifications go to owners and managers only.

Email starts switched on for a service due, a warranty ending, an unsafe or critical machine, a recommendation sent and someone not signing off. The others start on the phone only; switch Email on for any you want by email.

Reminders arrive at, at the top of What to tell you, sets when reminders come: any half hour from 6 am to 10 am, and 9 am unless you change it. It is one time for you on every farm you are on, by phone and by email, in your own time zone, and that morning's reminders come to the phone together as one notification. Each reminder's row shows the time you chose, for example "At 8 am, once". Phase learns your time zone whenever you open it on a phone or in a browser; if you never have, it uses where your paddocks are.

Reminders come once and are never repeated, and nothing more is sent when something goes overdue. Nobody is told about their own work.

On a phone, nothing buzzes between 9 pm and 6 am: anything that happens overnight arrives at 6 am. A weather alert you set up, Time to sign off and Someone hasn't signed off are the exceptions and come through at any hour. Several notifications close together arrive as one, for example "3 updates · Hillside", except Someone hasn't signed off, which always comes on its own. Emails for the straight-away kinds go as they happen; reminder emails wait for your reminder time.

On an iPhone, Phase asks once whether it may send notifications. If the answer was no, the Notifications page says Phase can't notify this phone: turn notifications on for Phase in the phone's Settings. On an Android phone, Phase asks once the app from Google Play is up to date.

Advisers are not sent the farm's day-to-day notifications, only weather alerts they set up, so they have no reminder time to choose. A view-only login gets no notifications.

In Jobs & Maintenance, Alerts opens the same switches for jobs and machinery, with the reminder time and All notification settings for the rest. A change in either place changes both.

Three switches under Team updates, at the foot of More → Notifications, cover what other people on the farm record. They start switched on and say In Phase only: they show on the bell's Team tab and never go to your phone or email.

Each person gets one line per kind of work per day, which counts up as they go ("recorded feed for 6 mobs" rather than six lines). Nobody is told about their own work. Advisers and view-only logins get no team updates.

CarPlay uses the farm snapshot cached by the Phase iPhone app. It can show paddock boundaries and names, the paddock you are currently in, today's work and nearby paddocks, and saved Notes. It shows no map layers: Crop Vigour and soil layers are on the phone's Map and in Spatial, not in the car. The layers button can still appear on the CarPlay screen until the next iPhone app update, but it has nothing to show.

Open Phase on the iPhone once with reception and let the farm finish syncing.

Use Plans to open today's work or the nearest paddocks. Use Notes to browse nearby pins. You can also add a Note at the vehicle's current position; it is queued back to the phone and saved when Phase syncs.

When you approach a saved Note, CarPlay may show a proximity alert with an option to navigate to it. Treat map positions as a field aid: keep attention on the road and confirm hazards and locations safely before acting.

If CarPlay says to open Phase on iPhone, open the app, select the correct farm, wait for it to load and reconnect. CarPlay can keep showing its last cached farm snapshot when mobile coverage drops, but new phone changes need a completed sync before they appear.

When the phone app opens, it shows the farm saved on the phone, then loads the latest from the cloud straight away. If that load does not finish, for example because the phone was locked, Phase tries again when you reopen the app or get signal back, and every minute while it is open. Saving while the phone is still catching up says Phase is still syncing; "No connection" means the phone really has no signal.

If it still looks out of date, try refreshing, signing out and back in, or updating the app from the app store.

Use the same Phase login on web and mobile. If the mobile app appears to show different data, check that it is signed into the same account and farm workspace.

Large imports and billing are usually easier on web. Quick paddock checks, weather, inventory lookups and support messages are useful from mobile.

If web and mobile disagree, do not create duplicate records immediately. First check farm workspace, season, internet connection and whether sync has finished.
