To avoid blurry scans, hold the image 2 inches (5 cm) away from the computer screen (so the screen's pixels don't appear in your scan) and hold the camera about 4 inches (10cm) away from the slide.

You can hold the device closer to the slide. Make sure, the image is still in focus.

If it gets blurry, try to move slightly back and forth until it gets back in focus.
