Welcome to Phreno! Your sensor has arrived and you're one step closer to understanding your head health like never before. Here's everything you'll find in the box and what to do next.

πŸ“¦ What's in the Box

When you open your Phreno box, you'll find:

  • Phreno Sensor β€” fully assembled, with the battery already connected and housed in its impact-resistant casing

  • USB-C Charging Cable β€” for getting your sensor powered up and ready to go

Your device ships fully assembled, so there's no setup required out of the box β€” just charge it and you're off!

πŸ” Getting to Know Your Sensor

Take a moment to familiarise yourself with the key parts:

Sensor Housing

A compact, durable shell designed to take a hit β€” literally. It's built to be tough while staying lightweight and unobtrusive inside your helmet.

Charging Port

You'll find a USB-C port on the sensor housing. This is how you'll keep your sensor powered up before every session.

LED Indicator

There's an internal LED on the PCB that currently provides charging status. It's not visible during regular use β€” more on that in the LED guide.

Internal Battery

An 80mAh Lithium-Ion battery is already connected inside the housing. It may arrive with a low or dead charge, so we recommend plugging in before your first use.

πŸ”Œ Before You Do Anything Else β€” Charge It!

Your sensor will likely arrive with a low battery, so the first thing to do is plug it in using the included USB-C cable. A full charge takes about 1–2 hours, and the exact battery level is visible in the app once you're set up.

🧲 About the 3M Mounting Tape

Your sensor comes with 3M VHB tape pre-installed on the housing. This is what you'll use to mount it inside your helmet β€” no tools needed. Check out our mounting guide for step-by-step instructions on getting the perfect placement.
