A course type is an overall specification for a course, linking it to qualification and site data. Each Course will be linked to a course type. Selecting Courses > Configuration and going to the Course Types tab will open the course type list.

Course Type List

The course type list displays any course types that match the filters set above the list. For each course type, the following details are shown:

  • Course Type Code

  • Name

  • Organiser – This is the PICS Officer who set up the course type.

  • Status – This will be either Live or Dormant.

Filtering the List

The following searching and filtering options are available by default above the list. Once you have entered the necessary details, press Enter or select the green search button to run the search and apply your filters.

  • Search – Here you can search by course type name.

  • Number of records – Here you can use the drop-down menu to choose how many results are displayed per page.

Along with these, additional fields can be added by selecting More. Choosing a field will add it to the top bar, where it works like the filters explained above. The following fields are available:

  • Status

  • Organiser

  • Qualification Plan

  • Qualification

  • Unit

  • Site

Exporting the List

Selecting More also shows an option to Export to Excel. Selecting this will generate an Excel Spreadsheet containing the details currently displayed in the list.

Adding a New Course Type

Selecting Actions > Create Course Type from the top-right corner of the page will open the New Course Type window. In this window, you can specify the following details:

  • Code

  • Name

Once you have added the necessary details, select Save to create the course type. You will then be taken to the Edit Course Type page, where you can enter further details.

Course Type Actions

Selecting the ... icon by a course type in the list will open a menu with the following options:

  • Summary – This will open the Course Type Summary in a new page.

  • Edit – This will open a window where you can Edit the Course Type.

  • Delete – You will be prompted to confirm that you want to delete the course type.
