How to configure custom course attendance values

When Recording Attendance for Course Sessions, along with the default attendance values you can choose from your own custom attendance values. Selecting Courses > Configuration and going to the Custom Attendance Values tab will open the custom attendance value list.

Along with any custom values shown in this page, the following default attendance values are available:

  • Present

  • Authorised

  • Unauthorised

  • Late

  • Not Enrolled

Custom Attendance Value List

The attendance value list displays any values that match the filters set above the list. For each value, the following details are shown:

  • Code

  • Name

  • Base Attendance Value – All custom attendance values are either a sub-value of a default attendance value, or of a custom attendance value that itself is linked to a default value.

  • Status – This will be either Live or Dormant.

Filtering the List

The following searching and filtering options are available by default above the list. Once you have entered the necessary details, press Enter or select the green search button to run the search and apply your filters.

  • Search – Here you can search by attendance value name.

  • Number of records – Here you can use the drop-down menu to choose how many results are displayed per page.

Along with these, additional fields can be added by selecting More. Choosing a field will add it to the top bar, where it works like the filters explained above. The following fields are available:

  • Status

Exporting the List

Selecting More also shows an option to Export to Excel. Selecting this will generate an Excel Spreadsheet containing the details currently displayed in the list.

Adding a New Attendance Value

Selecting Actions > Create Custom Attendance Value from the top-right corner of the page will open the Create Custom Attendance Value window. In this window, you can specify the following details:

  • Code

  • Name

  • Base Attendance Value – Here you can use the drop-down menu to choose the attendance value to link as a parent value. This field must be completed.

Once you have added the necessary details, select Save to create the attendance value.

Custom Attendance Value Actions

Selecting the ... icon by a value in the list will open a menu with the following options:

  • Edit – This will open a window where you can Edit the Attendance Value.

  • Delete – You will be prompted to confirm that you want to delete the attendance value.
