Data import fields allow the answers entered in a WebForm to be imported into the corresponding data record once the form is Imported.

The list of data import fields is available at the bottom-right corner of the WebForms Designer. The Find Import Field bar can be used to search the list.

Each field is named after the PICSWeb field that it will be used to populate. Once you have found the correct field, drag and drop it into your file template.

Data import fields will be automatically formatted to reflect what kind of data is being captured:

  • Free text fields such as Address will be shown as a simple text field.

  • Data based on a specific format, such as Postcode, will be formatted to only allow an answer in a valid postcode format.

  • Data based on an externally specified list, such as ILR Disability, will be formatted as a drop-down menu with the correct options shown.

  • Data based on a list maintained in your PICSWeb data, such as Qualification Plan, will be formatted as a drop-down menu with the options list populated from your basedata.

Once a form has been completed, you can view the data that will be imported by going to the relevant Form Summary and referring to the Data tab. This will show each PICSWeb Field and the new Value that has been imported into it.
