My sleep analysis seems to be incorrect

This article provides ways to troubleshoot and improve Pillow's sleep analysis results

Aktualizováno před více než rokem

Important: This article applies only to sleep sessions that are detected automatically when you wear your Apple Watch during sleep.

100% Awake or 100% Deep Sleep or 100% REM.

This is an indication that Pillow doesn't have all the necessary permissions to access the Apple Health categories needed to perform sleep analysis. This can easily be fixed by following the instructions on this article:

Sleep analysis missed several hours of my sleep or has detected that I'm wake when I wasn't.

Here's what to check to do make sure is properly configured to perform sleep analysis:

1. Re-analyze the day

  1. Open Pillow on your iPhone

  2. Go to the day that you want to re-analyze by tapping on the calendar icon on the top right corner

  3. Tap on the "Re-analyze" button at the bottom of the screen

  4. Select the analysis that matches the awake/asleep time more closely

  5. Tap on Done

If re-analysis still doesn't produce the expected results:

2. Check Automatic sleep tracking settings

a. Open Pillow on your iPhone

b. Tap on the Settings icon on the top right corner

c. Select "Setup" wizard

d. In the "Exclude Time" step, make sure you haven't excluded any time that you don't want to exclude

c. In the "Sleep session setup" step, make sure the setting "I usually go to be around" is set correctly.

d. In the "Time to sleep detection", don't turn on this switch if you usually spend a lot of time awake on the bed or sitting at the couch.

3. Reset Pillow A.I.

a. Open Pillow

b. Tap on the Settings icon on the top right corner

c. Go to Pillow A.I. > Select "Reset training"

Keep recording more sleep sessions as Pillow will try to re-adjust to your sleep patters

4. Check your Apple Health data

Sometimes the Apple Watch fails to send all required data to the iPhone. In this case Pillow won't have enough data to work with. To check if you have enough data:

a. Open the Apple Health app

b. Tap on the "Browse" tab > Health Categories > Activity > Active Energy

c. Scroll Down and tap on "Show all data"

d. Tap on the day that Pillow didn't analyse as expected > Check that you have enough data during the night. Apple Health should record values every 2-5 minutes.

e. Repeat step (d) for the "Heart rate" category.

5. Contact support

If you have enough Apple Health data, please contact our support team to help you.
