Manual Sleep Tracking

Pillow can record sleep sessions both manually and automatically (automatic mode requires an Apple Watch).

Whether you have an Apple Watch or not, Pillow ensures comprehensive sleep tracking. Apple Watch users benefit from automatic detection, while iPhone-only users can still get valuable sleep data through manual tracking.

To start a sleep session manually:

Using the Apple Watch and the iPhone

  1. Open Pillow on the iPhone.

  2. Open Pillow on the Apple Watch.

  3. On your Apple Watch, tap on the sleep icon at the bottom left corner of the screen.

  4. Tap on the alarm preset you prefer.

  5. Place your iPhone on the nightstand and keep your Apple Watch on your wrist.

  6. When the alarm goes off, please press and hold "Stop" on your Apple Watch.

Using the iPhone or iPad only

  1. Open Pillow on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. Tap on the alarm icon in the bottom left corner.

  3. Tap on "Start" on the alarm preset you prefer.

  4. Place your device on the mattress near your pillow.

Using the Apple Watch only

  1. Open Pillow on your Apple Watch.

  2. Tap on the sleep icon at the bottom left corner of the screen to access your tracking presets.

  3. Create a new alarm preset by tapping the "+" symbol or edit an existing one by tapping on the three dots "..." in the top right corner.

  4. Turn OFF all features that require the iPhone:

    1. iPhone Speaker,

    2. iPhone Vibration,

    3. Sound recordings,

    4. Sleep aid.

  5. Tap on Done.

  6. Tap on your preferred preset to start an Apple Watch-only manual sleep session.
