Intended use
Pilloxa is a device to help self management of medication and to support adherence to medication.

Intended user

The intended user of the product is a person who on a daily basis takes medicine on one or two occasions. For proper use, the user need to know how to use a smartphone and technical aids and can independently handle her medication. No specific training additionally to this is required in order to use the product. The user must be able to read and understand the Swedish or English language and should also not have cognitive impairment or uncorrected visual errors that prevent them to interact and use the product correctly.

The product is intended for use in home environment. For a more detailed description of this, please see below under Environmental requirements.

​Limitations of the product
Only medicines that are allowed to be stored outside of their original packaging, for example in a pill organizer, for at least two weeks may be used in the product.

  • A compartment is meant to be used for one dose occasion and all pills in a compartment must therefore be removed from the compartment at the same time. The product can therefore not be used so that one compartment contains pills to be taken on different occasions.

  • Medicine stored in the product must be in pill or capsule form and larger than 9 x 9 millimeters.

  • The size of the dose compartment is 5.7 ml and each dose must be able to fit into this space for proper use.

  • The product is for use in Europe only

  • The product can only be used in environments that support bluetooth and / or GPRS.

  • The user needs to provide a charged and working smartphone with enabled bluetooth mode. The mobile application needs to be downloaded to this smartphone and on iOS devices, enabled in background mode (meaning that the

  • Because the functionality of the product depends on the data provided by the user with the product and external circumstances there is a risk that the product may not work optimally all the time. It is therefore important that the user is able to take responsibility for taking her medicine, recognizes the product's limitations and does not replace her responsibility with the product

  • The product is intended to be used by a single user.
