Manage Safety Reports
Safety Hub's report queue is where Safety Managers review every incoming report, assign it to the right team, move it through a status workflow, and connect it to hazards or FDM flight events. This article is for anyone with the Manage Safety Reports permission.
What you see in the queue
In the Safety Hub left sidebar, select Safety Reports under the Safety Management group. The page is titled Reports. It lists all reports routed to teams you belong to. If you are an Accountable Executive or Safety Manager, you see every report across the operator.
A row of stat tiles sits at the top of the page: Open Reports, Overdue / Due Today, Assigned to Me, and Total Reports.
Below the tiles is the Report Queue. Each row shows:
Report ID — auto-generated identifier (e.g.,
RPT-20260708-AHG79G)Report Title — reporter-supplied summary
Reporter, Event Date, Submitted
Location, Status, Team, Assigned To, Due Date
Last Modified — the date and time the report was last edited
Use the search box and the All Statuses, All Teams, All Severity, and All Areas filters to narrow the list. The queue is paged (for example, "Showing 1-25 of 299 · Page 1 of 12") — use the page controls to move through it.
Open and review a report
Click any row to open the report detail.
The Reporter Submitted Data section is immutable — it shows exactly what the reporter entered.
The Safety Manager Fields section is editable. It renders the private, Safety-Team-only form fields your operator has configured for internal review — the exact fields depend on your setup. Select Edit to fill in or update them.
The Timeline card in the sidebar shows the report's key dates — when it was Submitted and, once it reaches a terminal status, when it was Closed. For the complete record of every change and action, open Audit History.
Assign a report to a team and member
The report detail has a row of controls across the top of the page — separate from the report fields:
Select a Team from the team dropdown. The list shows teams you are a member of (or all teams if you are an AE or Safety Manager).
Select a member from the Assignee dropdown.
Set a Due Date in the date picker if a resolution deadline applies.
Your changes save to the report and it appears in the assignee's team queue.
If a person is missing from the Assignee picker, their FSP user record may not be flagged as a Safety Officer. An FSP administrator needs to enable that flag before they appear here.
Move a report through statuses
Change status from the Status dropdown at the top of the report detail. The default flow is Submitted → In Progress → Under Review → Closed:
Status | Role |
Submitted | Initial — report just arrived |
In Progress | Work is underway |
Under Review | Awaiting review or decision |
Closed | Terminal — no further action |
Statuses are operator-configurable. Your Safety Manager can add or rename statuses in Settings → SMS → Statuses.
Reports show N days overdue in the queue when they pass their Due Date without reaching a terminal status.
Link a report to a hazard
Once you identify an underlying hazard:
In the report detail, find the Linked Items panel and open the Hazards section.
Select Link hazards to search for and connect an existing hazard, or Create Hazard to make a new one.
Linking a report to a hazard carries the report's context into the hazard's risk assessment and corrective action workflow.
For more on working with hazards, see the "Manage Hazards" article.
Add comments
Use the Comments card inside a report to communicate:
Internal comments — visible to Safety Team members only
External comments — visible to the reporter when they look up their Report ID on the public status page
Users with the Comment permission (canSafetyComment) can post comments even if they cannot edit report fields.
Check a report's public status
Reporters who submitted via the public form receive a Report ID. They can look up their status at any time using Check Report Status (toolbar button on the Reports page). No login is required.
Troubleshooting
A report isn't showing in my queue. You can only see reports routed to teams you belong to — unless you are an Accountable Executive or Safety Manager. Ask your Safety Hub administrator to check your team membership.
The Assignee picker is empty. The person is not flagged as a Safety Officer in FSP. An FSP admin must enable that flag on their user record.
A report shows "N days overdue." The report passed its Due Date without reaching a terminal status (e.g., Closed). Update the Due Date or move the report to a terminal status such as Closed to clear the indicator.
I cannot change the status or assigned team. You need the Manage Safety Reports FSP permission. Contact your FSP administrator.
