Navigate the Safety Analytics dashboards

Safety Hub includes three Analytics views that let you monitor your organization's safety trends over time. This article is for safety managers, safety officers, and anyone with the View Analytics permission who wants to understand what each view shows and how to use it.

You reach all three from the Safety Hub left sidebar. Under SAFETY MANAGEMENT, select Analytics to expand the dropdown, then choose Open Loop Items, Performance Assessment, or Repeat Events.

Open Loop Items

Open Loop Items shows audit-readiness gaps — places where the safety loop is incomplete.

The view tracks three gap types:

  • Incidents without a Hazard — safety reports that have not been linked to a hazard record.

  • Hazards without a Corrective Action — hazards with no action assigned to address them.

  • Completed Corrective Actions without Verification — actions that require verification, marked complete but not yet verified for effectiveness. Actions that do not require verification are not counted here.

Each gap type shows a count. Select any row to drill into the list of specific records. From there you can open a report, hazard, or corrective action directly to close the gap.

Use this view before an audit or safety review meeting to confirm every incident has a hazard and every hazard has an action in progress.

SMS Performance Assessment

Performance Assessment opens the SMS Performance Assessment report, formatted for Accountable Executive review.

Use the date-range dropdown in the top right (for example, Last 90 Days) to set the reporting window. The dropdown also offers Current Quarter and Prior Quarter options. The report is organized into four sections:

  • KPI Summary — a period-over-period comparison table. Each metric shows the Current Period, the Prior Period, and the Change %. Metrics include Total Reports, Reports Closed, Avg Days to Close, and New Hazards Identified.

  • Risk Profile — hazards identified in the period bucketed by risk level into High, Medium, and Low.

  • Corrective Action Performance — CAs Completed, CAs Overdue, Avg Days to Close, and Completion Rate for the period.

  • Top Operational Areas — the operational areas (Unassigned, Air Navigation, Operations, Aerodrome, Maintenance, etc.) that appear most often, with a count and % of total.

Select Export PDF to produce a formatted report you can share with the Accountable Executive or attach to a safety review record.

Repeat Event Analysis

Repeat Events opens the Repeat Event Analysis view, which surfaces recurring safety issues — patterns that appear more than once and may indicate a systemic problem.

Repeat Event Analysis view grouped by Operational Area, showing summary tiles and expandable per-area cards with event counts and most-recent dates

Three summary tiles sit at the top: Repeat event groups, Total events in repeat groups, and Highest repeat count. Use the Group by selector to group recurrence by Operational Area, Location, or Aircraft, and the 30D / 90D / 1Y control to change the time window.

Below the tiles, each group appears as an expandable card showing its event count and a Most recent date. When a group shows a high count, expand it to see the individual reports. You can then open each report, link it to an existing hazard, or create a new hazard to begin the corrective-action process. See the "Manage hazards in Safety Hub" article for the hazard workflow.

Filter and export data

Both the SMS Performance Assessment and Repeat Event Analysis views export to PDF (and Repeat Event Analysis also to CSV). Look for the Export PDF / CSV buttons in the toolbar on each view.

Filters on the underlying Safety Reports and Hazards registers (Status, Team, Severity, Operational Area) affect the source data these views draw from, but the Analytics views have their own date-range and grouping controls. See the "Manage safety reports" article for the report queue filters.

Permission required

You must have the View Analytics permission (canViewSafetyAnalytics) to see the Analytics views. If the Analytics dropdown does not appear in your sidebar, ask your administrator to check your role in FSP under Settings → Users → Roles & Permissions.
