In this article, we will cover how you can interact with your aggregated report data on PINATA including filtering, downloading, pivoting and gathering more information across the Reports and Financials tabs. Click HERE to see a quick video on an example of interacting with your data.

Filters

By expanding FILTERS at the top of your view, you will see certain criteria that you can use to filter the corresponding data. These can vary depending on the report, see an example of the Overview report below.

Simply click the filters you want, then select apply. The data you now see will reflect the filters that have been chosen.

Pro Tip: If you have selected an individual program at the top of the dashboard, all reports will be filtered to only look at the data for that program.

Download Data

You can also download reports, specific tables, or the data from the tables, as shown here:

Pivot Tables

Below is information on creating + viewing pivot tables within your PINATA reports. If you would like to learn more about creating a pivot table within Excel, go HERE.

In your PINATA report tables, you can create a pivot table out of all table-like charts. Click the "Edit Pivot" option after choosing the 3 horizontal lines in the upper right corner of a chart.

Next you will see the Pivot Settings menu of options.

Columns and Rows

To assign a field as a row, drag it from the Fields list into the Rows box. To add columns, drag the field from Fields list to the Columns box. See the GIF below!

Values

Values can be added to a pivot table to show an aggregated value per column and row. Fields used as values are aggregated for their respective row and column. Aggregation options include: Sum, Count, Average, Minimum and Maximum. To set the value's format, click the arrow next to the value to open its dropdown, and select a format option from the aggregation dropdown.

Aggregated values can be formatted by clicking its dropdown. Then select an option from the format dropdown on the right side.

Filters for Pivots

Data can be filtered within a pivot table. Filters used in pivot tables are separate from dashboard filters and only filter the data within that table's result set. To filter on a field, drag it from the Fields list to the the Filters box. String and date values can be filtered by selecting one of the following options from the dropdown and entering a string: Equals, Does not Equal, Contains, Begins With, and Ends With.

Numeric values can be filtered by selecting one of the following operators: >, <, ==, !=, >=, and <=.
