Tags

Admin users can add and remove Tags from the site settings page. Use Tags to setup your sites and users effectively.

Tags

The Site Settings icon can be found next to the site name at the top of the work list page or from the left-side menu. See the Site Settings article for more information. If you do not see this icon it means you are not an Admin user on that site.

Select ‘Manage Tags’ from the Site Settings icon to add and delete tags for your site. From this page, tags can be added and deleted, but they cannot be edited. Tags will be alphabetized automatically.

Tags are an essential part of the setup of your site. When creating a list of tags, consider who will be using your site and how the site will be used.

Tags play a role in being able to effectively sort and filter your data, as well as who will have access to it. (See the Manage Users article for more information.) For example, you may want to add tags for different departments, contractors, shipyard periods, management, owners, types of work, etc. 

Tags are automatically alphabetized and can be added in 3 ways:

1) Enter Tags manually in the text box

2) Import Tags from another site

3) Import Tags from an Excel spreadsheet

When adding Normal and Guest users, you can select which tags you'd like that user to see. Then, any points with those tags added will be visible for that user - no other points will be displayed.

You can also Filter your work list by the tags you’ve set up. Select a tag from the Filter menu, then click Apply. To find points with 2 or more of the same tags selected, use the + symbol to combine tags. Please see the Filter, Group, Sort, & Search article for more information.

Once the work list has been filtered, you can then Export points related to the selected tags. Please take a look at the exporting article for more information.

Example Tags: 

  • Department: Interior, Engineering, Deck

  • Category: Electrical, Plumbing, AVIT, Teak, Paint, Guest, Owner Request, Winter Refit, Survey

  • Location: Interior, Exterior, Guest area, Crew area, Tech space, Pool, Restaurant, Master Bedroom

  • People: Contractors, Shipyards, Owner’s Office, Management, Architect

Setup suggestions for yachts:

For yachts <50m, use one main work list and use tags to separate departmental works, ex: Interior, Engineering, Deck, Bridge, Galley. 

For yachts >50m, separate work lists by department or shipyard periods. For example, multiple sites for the account may include a list for Engineering, Deck, Interior, and Bridge; a list for an upcoming refit, repaint or survey; separate sites for tenders.

Setup suggestions for properties:

Hotels, and other land based projects may prefer to keep all works on one site and use tags to differentiate between contractors, types of work, or areas of the property or building. 

Alternatively, if the site plan is large it may be better to have multiple sites based on various locations of the property. For example, a hotel may prefer to have individual sites for rooms, restaurant, bars, spa, parking garage, and other facilities.
