How Can I Change My Subscription Plan or Billing Frequency in Pipedrive?

Managing your subscription settings in Pipedrive allows you to customize your plan and billing frequency based on your needs. Below, we explain the process for switching subscription plans, changing billing frequencies, and understanding when changes take effect.

Switching Subscription Plans

If you want to switch to a different subscription plan in Pipedrive, you must initiate the change manually. Here are the steps: To make these changes, you must have the appropriate permissions. Only users with Account Settings (administrator) permissions can manage or cancel subscriptions, including switching plans.

  1. Request the Change: Pipedrive does not automatically switch your subscription plan. You need to request the change through your account settings.

  2. Administrative Access Required: Only users with Account Settings (administrator) permissions can manage or cancel subscriptions. This includes accessing the Billing section to make changes such as adding or removing add-ons, adjusting seat counts, or downgrading plans. If you lack the necessary permissions, ask the person in your company who manages the account settings to handle it.

  3. Contact Support (If Necessary): If assistance is required, you can contact Pipedrive’s support team to help process the change.

Changing Your Billing Frequency

You can modify your billing frequency (e.g., switching from monthly to annual billing) in a few steps: When switching from annual to monthly billing, you must navigate to the Billing section, select "Manage subscription," and use the frequency switcher to change the billing cycle. Note that changes will take effect at the end of your current annual term. If you are on a legacy plan, you may need to switch to a current plan before changing the billing frequency.

  1. Navigate to your account menu (accessible via the top-right corner) and select Billing > Manage Subscription.

  2. Choose your desired billing cycle (monthly or yearly) and confirm your choice by clicking “Continue.” Complete the billing flow as prompted.

  3. Note that when switching to an annual billing plan: - The change will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. - On annual billing, you pay for the entire subscription cost upfront and can use Pipedrive for one year. - Refunds for the remaining billing period are not available once you switch to annual billing. Additionally, it is not possible to set a specific billing date within the month. If you need to align your billing date, you may need to cancel your current subscription and re-subscribe on your desired date.

Timing for Plan and Billing Changes

It is essential to consider when your requested changes will take effect:

  • Subscription plan updates, including downgrades or upgrades, depend on the specific process handled during the billing cycle.

  • Billing frequency changes (e.g., monthly to yearly) will only take effect at the end of the current billing cycle. Changes cannot be enacted immediately if the current period payment has already been processed.

  • If you change from annual to monthly billing, the changes will take effect from the next renewal date. Please note that if transitioning from annual to monthly billing mid-term, the Billing page will continue to show the annual term until the current cycle concludes, after which the subscription will reflect monthly billing.

  • Changing your subscription plan or billing frequency does not delete your account or data. These changes are purely billing-related and do not affect the data stored in your account.

By following this guidance, you can ensure a smooth transition between plans or billing settings based on your requirements. Always remember that plan changes or billing modifications require your active input to align with Pipedrive’s subscription policies. If you encounter issues such as grayed-out options or limitations due to legacy plans, ensure you are viewing all available plans or consider migrating to a new plan. Additionally, switching billing frequency does not result in data loss, and your account data remains intact regardless of the billing cycle.
