Email Format

Written by João Gomes

Why does the format of my email look different as a sent email?

  • In regards to email format, users frequently report the following issues:

  1. Template format is inconsistent or different between Pipedrive and your provider

  2. Email font is different

  • When composing templates in Pipedrive, you should always paste content in simple text, and only afterward format inside the composer, to make sure no formatting is being carried over.

  • Sometimes, despite pasting and then deleting + rewriting the text directly in the composer, the hidden style remains, and continues to affect the format in which text will be presented.

What can I do if the format of my email looks different as a sent email?

  • If the format of your emails looks different as a sent email, the solution is to redo the template, clearing the existing formatting. Alternatively, when you do need to copy-paste something, you will need to make sure to paste any text without formatting (CTRL-SHIFT-V on Windows, CMD-SHIFT-V on Mac).

My email template fields, font, or format are different, what can I do?

  • In regards to email template fields having different formatting, the email should be fully composed with the fields added first, before any formatting is done. Only afterward should the formatting be applied, to make sure it applies to the fields as well as the body of the email.

My email signature disappears or looks strange, how can I fix this?

  • Issues with email formatting are normally caused due to email content being copied into Pipedrive from an outside source (as a word processor or your email client, for example), thus pasting text already formatted into them, containing more or less elaborate HTML.

  • Sometimes users even copy templates from other existing templates in Pipedrive, and in those cases, issues like the signature disappearing or looking strange (such as black squares around the text, etc) can occur.
