Can I pay for each user and seat separately?

Written by João Gomes

Unfortunately, it's not possible to have different users with different plans in one company. Pipedrive Billing is per account for the number of seats in the account with the seat price set by the plan and billing frequency.

Pipedrive enforces a company-level subscription model, meaning all users within the same company account must share the same subscription plan and billing frequency. For example, if the company selects the Growth plan, every user in the account will be on the Growth plan. Mixing different plans, such as Lite and Growth, is not supported. Similarly, all users must follow the same billing frequency. If the account is set to annual billing, all users will be billed annually. Mixing billing frequencies, such as monthly for some users and annual for others, is not allowed.

Common Scenarios and Resolutions

  1. Mixing Plans:

    • Scenario: A company wants some users on the Lite plan and others on the Growth plan.

    • Resolution: This is not possible. All users must be on the same plan. To manage user access and capabilities, use roles, permissions, and visibility groups instead.

  2. Mixing Billing Frequencies:

    • Scenario: A company wants some users billed monthly and others billed annually.

    • Resolution: This is not supported. All users must adhere to the same billing frequency set at the company level.

  3. Switching to a Single-User Plan:

    • Scenario: A company wants to reduce its subscription to a single-user Lite plan.

    • Resolution: Deactivate extra users and remove unused seats before changing the plan. Navigate to Settings > Manage users > Users, deactivate users, and adjust the number of seats during the billing process.

In the meantime, I would recommend seeing if our permissions and visibility groups can help with any user access limitations you may want in your account.

If your goal is to provide different levels of access or functionality to users, consider using Pipedrive's built-in tools:

  • Roles and Permissions: Assign roles to control what users can see and do within the account.

  • Visibility Groups: Manage data visibility for specific users or teams.

  • Account Configuration Permissions: Grant specific users access to account-wide settings and reports.
