What are roles and permissions in Pipefy

A role refers to the type of access people have when accessing their company’s Pipefy account. It can be personalized, and tends to vary depending on the company, pipe, and database.

Permissions are actions people can or cannot execute in a company, pipe, or database, like adding users, creating pipes, and deleting database records, among other things. Each role has specific permissions that can be personalized in the admin dashboard.

📢 Keep in mind: You must have company admin permissions to use the admin dashboard or add users with different roles. Learn more about Pipefy pricing.

📢 Keep in mind: You need to be a company admin to use the admin dashboard or add people with different roles. Learn more about Pipefy pricing.

To manage people with database access, or to invite new users, click on Members at the top of the page:

To change a user’s role, click on their role and select the new one you are granting them:

To add new users, click Invite members. Then enter their email address (or username, if they are already registered in your company at Pipefy). If they have been set up as a user, you will see their profile icon. Choose the role you wish to grant them, then click Invite.

💡 Tip: You can add users whose profiles don’t appear. Click + Add more people to register their email address.

How to allow members to create, edit and delete records

By default, only admins can create, edit and delete records (the information saved in the database).

To enable or disable a user’s access to the database, clicking the gear icon at the top of the screen:

Then, click on Database settings

In Authorizations, enable or disable the settings that allow people who are not admins to create, edit and delete database records.
