Using Presets to Create Collection Templates

Speed up your gallery workflow by saving your preferred collection settings as a preset.

In Client Gallery, presets allow you to save pre-configured settings for a collection and apply them to future collections that you create. A preset can include default preferences across different collection settings such as privacy, design, store options, download limits, and more.

What can I use presets for?

If you regularly set up collections in the same way, presets can save you a lot of time. You can even create multiple presets for the different kinds of collections you create (e.g. a “Wedding” preset and a “Newborn” preset).

Here are some ways you can make the most of a preset:

  • Save custom design layouts: Create your preset with your preferred combination of color, typography, cover style, and even photo set titles. The next time you create a collection, apply your preset to save yourself time from re-creating your styling selections from scratch.

  • Apply specific download options: Customize download preferences, such as available file sizes and download limits, in your preset once and skip the manual set-up in your next collection when you apply the preset to it.

  • Pre-configure privacy settings: If you require a password for each of your collections, set up a password requirement in your preset so any collections created from it will have a unique password set automatically.

  • Connect your preferred storefront: If you have a specific set of pricing that you’d like certain collections to offer (e.g. wedding versus portrait), set up your preset with the respective price sheet attached.

Tip: If you’re looking to use presets to set a specific language for your collections, you can choose a default language in your Client Gallery settings instead.

Creating a Preset

To set up a new preset:

  1. Go to Client Gallery Dashboard > Settings > Presets.

  2. Click +Add Preset and give your new preset a name.

  3. Customize your preset with your preferred collection settings.

You can also create a preset based on an existing collection’s settings. Simply go to Collections, select the collection, and click More > Save as preset.

Applying a Preset

Once your new preset is available, you can begin applying it to collections. When creating a new collection, simply select the relevant preset from Presets dropdown menu. Your collection will be created with all your preset’s preferred settings applied.

You can also apply a preset to a collection after it has been created. While editing the collection, click More > Apply preset in the top right.
