Overview
We've simplified publishing in the Console to make content management more intuitive. The updated statuses and terminology align with common headless publishing workflows, helping you clearly see what’s live in the PWA and what’s still in progress, whether you're updating a single Object or coordinating changes across multiple Spaces and Points of Interest.
What’s New
We've updated the wording on our action buttons.
On-Display is now Publish, and Off-Display is now Revert to Draft.
Publish prepares content for release to the PWA.
Revert to Draft marks content for removal in your next release.
Publishing a public bundle is now called Releasing to public, reflecting how changes are grouped and pushed live together.
You can manage all your releases from the Releases page, accessed via the item in the left-hand navigation.
Publish Statuses, Explained
Here’s what each status means, ordered by how you’re likely to encounter them:
📝 Draft
🔁 Draft - Sync
Status | What it means: |
| You’ve clicked Revert to Draft in the Console, but the content isn't removed from the PWA yet.
The Console and the PWA are temporarily out of sync until you Release. |
🔁 Published - Sync
Status | What it means: |
| You’ve clicked Publish in the Console, but the content isn't available in the PWA yet.
The Console and the PWA are temporarily out of sync until you Release. |
✅ Published
✏️ Published with Draft Changes
Status | What it means: |
| Live content remains visible in the PWA but you have draft edits saved in the Console. |
🔁 Published with Changes Pending
Status | What it means: |
| You’ve Published Draft Changes in the Console, but the content isn't available in the PWA yet.
The Console and the PWA are temporarily out of sync until you Release. |
✅ Need a Refresher on the New Terms?
Term | What it means |
Publish | Prepare an item to go live in the next release. |
Revert to Draft | Remove an item from the PWA in the next release. |
Public Release | Push all pending changes live in one batch. |
Preview Release | Push all pending changes to the Preview PWA. |
Why We Made These Changes
These updates reduce confusion and align with standard publishing workflows. If you’ve worked with other headless CMS or content systems, the draft → publish → release process will feel familiar—making it easier for teams managing many items at once.
