What are "Documents" in Planpage?
Documents in Planpage allow you to create, send, and manage the files that power your client experience. At a high-level, a Document in Planpage can be one of two things:
An uploaded file
A Planpage Document (built using the built-in document editor)
Uploaded Files
Uploaded files are documents you and your clients add directly to Planpage from your computer. Examples might include:
Vendor contracts
Venue agreements
Floorplans
PDFs created outside Planpage
Planpage Documents
Planpage Documents are created directly inside Planpage using the built-in document editor. These documents are dynamic and can include advanced functionality depending on the document type.
There are four main types of Planpage Documents:
Brochure
A Brochure is designed for informational content. You can use it to share welcome guides, service overviews, pricing details, process explanations, or any other static content. Brochures are view-only and do not require client interaction.
Questionnaire
A Questionnaire allows you to ask structured questions and collect responses from your clients. You can use Questionnaires for onboarding, design preferences, timeline details, vendor selections, or any other information you need to gather during the planning process.
Client responses are saved directly within the document for easy reference.
Contract
A Contract is a legally binding document with advanced features designed for formal agreements. Contracts can include:
E-signatures
Smart fields that auto-fill information
Input fields (typed in manually)
Initial fields (require client initials before signing)
This allows you to manage agreements entirely inside Planpage without external tools.
Proposal
A Proposal allows you to combine your entire booking process into a single, seamless document. Instead of sending multiple separate documents, you can package everything into one professional, streamlined experience for your clients. A proposal can include:
Quote
Contract
Invoice
Payment
Additional informational pages or content
Document Templates
To save time and maintain consistency, you can create Document Templates for both Planpage Documents and uploaded files. Templates allow you to reuse commonly sent documents such as:
Welcome brochures
Planning questionnaires
Standard contracts
Proposals
When creating a new Document inside a Lead or Project, you can select a template instead of starting from scratch. The content or file is copied into the Project and ready for customization.
Templates help you standardize your client experience while still allowing you to tailor documents for each specific project.
