🎥 Task Statuses

In Planpage, tasks don't have a "checkbox". Instead they have a status that can be updated as work on a task progresses.

Task Statuses, Not Checkboxes

Unlike a simple checklist, tasks in Planpage move through defined statuses. Instead of only marking something as “done,” you can show whether a task is planned, ready to start, actively in progress, completed, or fully closed.

This gives you clearer visibility into where work stands at any moment. It also helps you separate tasks that are technically finished from those that are fully confirmed and wrapped up — an important distinction when coordinating with clients and vendors.

By using statuses, you can manage real workflow progression, not just check things off a list. And as planners know, there’s usually a lot that happens between “not done” and “done.”

Every Status Explained

Backlog

Tasks you’ve captured for but haven’t scheduled yet. Think of this as your running list of future to-dos.

Tasks with the Backlog status are never visible to clients in the client portal, even when assigned to a client.

Upcoming

On your radar, but not ready to be started. They’re waiting on timing, decisions, or other work to be completed first.

Ready

Tasks that are fully planned and ready to be worked on. You/Client has what you need to move forward.

In Progress

Tasks that are actively being worked on by you, your team, or your clients. These are currently in motion.

Completed

The task work has been finished, but it may still require confirmation, final follow-up, or acknowledgment before being fully closed out.

In the client portal, this is the final status clients can select. Only planners can move a task to Closed.

Closed

The task has been finalized and officially closed. It's complete and no additional follow-up is required.
