Add Space Tool
When you’re ready to begin adding spaces to your test-fit, there are 2 options in Plans Pro that enable you to easily create the shape and size you need.
The first is the 'Add Space' feature, which allows you to quickly create a square or rectangular space into your test-fit. To access this tool, click the 'Add Space' button in the toolbar, located at the top of your test-fit (or press the shortcut key R). Once active, click and drag your mouse to size a room. As an alternate, click anywhere on your test-fit to create a basic square space (measuring 9’10” x 10’8”) and then adjust as required.
You can create as many spaces as you like while in the ‘Add Space' mode. To finalize the spaces you’ve created, hit the done button in the top right corner of your screen, or hit enter on your keyboard as a shortcut. To cancel press escape (esc). This will remove all spaces you’ve created since entering 'Add space' mode.
To fill space, navigate to right hand panel and select from "Space Type" drop down. From the right hand panel, you will also find the current space dimensions, square footage, and have the ability to name your space.
Add Poly Tool
The second option is to use 'Add Poly' which allows you to quickly create uniquely-shaped areas or spaces with multiple sides, helping to represent circular spaces for example. Click the 'Add Poly' button in the top menu bar or press Z on your keyboard to enter 'Add Poly' mode. You can now click anywhere in your testfit to begin making your shape. Each time you left-click, you’ll add a new point or corner to your space until you close the shape by clicking on your first point or double clicking as you place your last point. When placing your points, you can also snap to nearby spaces or architectural elements just as you would in Add Spaces. Note that for any enclosed rooms, one side must be 64” at least to create a door and fill the space. To finalize your new shapes, hit done or the enter key. To cancel and remove any poly shapes you’ve created, hit escape (esc).
Slice to create multiple rooms
You can add multiple rooms at one time in a few ways. First, you can click ‘Add Room’ or use the shortcut key ‘R’ and click where you’d like your first room. Continue placing rooms until complete and then press enter or click ‘Done.’
If you are adding multiple rooms of the same type or in a row, you can add a room as described above, then resize the room to the area required for all rooms (see below). On the right hand panel, select the relevant ‘Room Type’ from the dropdown and then click ‘Slice Rooms’ or the shortcut key ‘S’ to divide your room into the desired number of rooms.
