When is proof of address required?
Proof of address (POA) is required during identity verification for users in certain countries. If it's required for your account, you'll be prompted to upload a document during the verification flow.
Accepted documents
Bank statement from a traditional bank
Credit card statement from a traditional bank
Utility bill (gas, electricity, water, or internet)
Government-issued letter or correspondence
Requirements
Your document must:
Show your full legal name and residential address
Be dated within the last 3 months
Be a clear, complete scan or photo, no screenshots, cropped images, or unreadable text
Plasma may request additional documentation at its discretion, and meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance of any particular document.
Be associated with your own current residential address
What's not accepted
Documents older than 3 months
PO Box addresses
Documents that don't show your name or address clearly
Plasma accounts are for personal use only and cannot be opened for businesses, LLCs, or other corporate entities.
Business addresses
Addresses belonging to relatives or other third parties
If your POA keeps getting rejected
Double-check all the requirements above. If your document meets them and it's still being rejected, contact support in the app with a brief description and we'll review it manually.
