What counts as valid proof of address?

When is proof of address required?

Proof of address (POA) is required during identity verification for users in certain countries. If it's required for your account, you'll be prompted to upload a document during the verification flow.

Accepted documents

πŸ’‘ Utility bills, government letters, and mortgage documents have the highest acceptance rate.

  • Utility bill (gas, electricity, water, internet)

  • Government-issued correspondence (e.g. tax letter)

  • Mortgage or lease agreement

  • Home insurance document

  • Bank statement

Requirements

Your document must:

  • Show your full legal name and residential address

  • Be dated within the last 3 months

  • Be a clear, complete scan or photo, no screenshots, cropped images, or unreadable text

  • Plasma may request additional documentation at its discretion, and meeting these requirements does not guarantee acceptance of any particular document.

What's not accepted

  • Documents older than 3 months

  • PO Box addresses

  • Documents that don't show your name or address clearly

  • N26 Bank statements

If your POA keeps getting rejected

Double-check all the requirements above. If your document meets them and it's still being rejected, contact support in the app with a brief description and we'll review it manually.
