Overview
This article explains how employees can clock in to start their shift, clock out to end their shift, and access POS functions based on their permissions. All recorded hours can be managed from the Back Office.
Prerequisites
An active POS user profile
PIN setup from Back Office
Steps
Clock In
Navigate to the User Screen.
You will see two login options: Password and Login PIN.
Password Login
All employee roles will be listed.
Tap on the user name or icon
Enter your password.
If the password is incorrect, request an admin to reset it from the Back Office and log in using the updated password.
After you log in, you’ll be clocked in automatically (if Auto Clock In is turned on).
If Auto Clock In is not enabled, you’ll see a Clock In button in the top-right corner.
After tapping Clock In, a clock-in pop-up will appear on the screen.
PIN Login
When you choose the login PIN option, the system will prompt you to enter your PIN.
Enter your Login PIN.
After entering your login PIN, you’ll be taken to the dashboard. Your user icon will appear in the bottom-left corner. Tap it, and the Clock In option will be visible in the top-right corner. ( If auto clock-in is enabled )
If Auto Clock-In is not enabled, Platter will automatically display a Clock-In pop-up and require the user to clock in before proceeding.
Clock Out
Password Clock Out
Tap your user icon or name.
Enter your password.
If you are still clocked in, the system will take you to the Dashboard.
Tap your user icon again (same as the Home screen).
In the top-right corner, you will see the Clock Out button.
Tap it to clock out.
PIN Clock Out
Enter your login PIN.
You’ll be directed to the Dashboard.
Your user icon will be in the bottom-left corner-tap it.
The Clock Out button will appear in the top-right corner.
Tap it to clock out.
After tapping Clock Out, a clock-out pop-up will appear on the screen.
Troubleshooting
If your name doesn’t appear, confirm your POS user profile is active.
If authentication fails, ask the admin to reset your PIN in the Back Office.
If you cannot clock out due to open orders or tables, close the orders or tables first.
