How do I change a student's password?

I need to change a student's password, what should I do?

Written by Leandra Santos

If they prefer, your students can change their password to one of their choosing after logging into the platform. To do this, on the main screen, they click their username, select Profile, and then Edit password.

The password can be changed whenever needed.

If a student happens to forget their password, you can always, as a teacher, reset it back to the original password. To do this, just click the Student List button, select a student, click View profile, and finally click the Reset password button.

A student's account is locked

When someone tries to log into a student account and enters the wrong password too many times, ubbu temporarily locks that account for security reasons.

To unlock it, you can:

  • Reset the student's password, following the steps above;

  • Or contact ubbu at hello@ubbu.io. Someone from our team will unlock the account as soon as possible.

If you don't follow these steps, the account will automatically unlock after 6 hours.

Changing the password for the whole class

You can also personalize your class password at any time. This change applies to all students, meaning that once you change the class password, your students will log in using that new password along with their username.

To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Choose a class.

  2. Click •••Options and then click Classroom Management.

  3. Click the pencil icon to edit it.

  4. Fill in the field with the new password. When you're done, click ✔️.
