Overview
Commission rates in Playbypoint allow you to define how instructors and staff are compensated for lessons and services. Commissions can be set as either:
A percentage of the lesson price, or
A fixed dollar amount per transaction.
Once created, commission rates can be assigned to each pro in the Manage Pros section, ensuring accurate payouts and simplified reporting.
Steps to Set Commission Rates
1. Access the Commission Rates Settings
Log into your Playbypoint Admin account.
From the left-hand menu, go to Settings.
Select Manage Pros.
Click the Commission Rates tab at the top of the page.
2. Create a New Commission Rate
Click + Add New Tier.
Enter a Name for the commission rate tier (e.g., “Head Tennis Pro” or “Brad - Coach”).
Click Add Price Rate to define the details.
3. Define Commission Details
When setting up a commission structure, you’ll configure:
Category: Lesson or Program
Players: How many players the rate applies to (1-on-1, semi-private, group).
Duration: The length of the lesson or program (e.g., 30, 60, 90 minutes).
Player Category: Limit based on member/non-member or affiliation type
User Type: Adult or Child
Shift: Limit according to your club's shifts (this can be referenced in Settings -> General -> Manage Schedule)
Surface: Limit this commission rate to apply to only a specific court type
Price: This is the commission amount that the pro will receive - enter either a flat $ amount or a % percentage using the dropdown.
Review and click Add at the bottom.
🚨Important🚨
A separate commission price structure must be created for each unique combination of player count and duration.
Example: If you pay pros 20% for private lessons and $15 flat for group lessons, you’ll need to set up each separately.
4. Save & Apply Rates
Review your commission tier and click Save Changes to save.
Assign the commission rate to the appropriate pro(s) under the Manage Pros > Pros section.
Edit or Delete Commission Rates
To edit a rate: Click the pencil icon next to the rate.
To delete a rate: Click the trash can icon.
⚠️ Editing or deleting a commission rate will only affect future transactions. Past earnings remain unchanged.
