Overview
Creating an Apple Developer Account is required to publish your Playbypoint private app on the App Store. This guide walks you through the process — from obtaining a D-U-N-S number to granting Playbypoint admin access so we can submit your app for review.
💡 Tip: You’ll also need to complete our Private App Request Form once your account is ready.
1. Obtain a D-U-N-S Number
Apple requires a D-U-N-S (Data Universal Numbering System) number to verify your organization’s identity.
Check if you have one: Use the Dun & Bradstreet lookup tool to search for your organization.
Request one (if needed): If your business doesn’t have a D-U-N-S number, request one for free through Dun & Bradstreet.
2. Create an Apple ID
Visit the Apple ID website and sign up using your organization’s email address (not a personal email).
3. Enroll in the Apple Developer Program
Go to the Apple Developer Program Enrollment page.
Click Start Your Enrollment and sign in with your Apple ID.
Choose Company / Organization as your entity type.
Enter your organization’s legal name, D-U-N-S number, and contact details.
Review and accept Apple’s license agreement.
Pay the $99 annual fee using a valid credit card.
4. Verify and Activate Your Account
Apple will review your enrollment and may contact you for verification.
Once approved, you’ll receive a confirmation email with instructions to activate your account.
5. Grant Playbypoint Admin Access
Once your account is active:
Sign in at Apple Developer.
Navigate to Users and Access.
Click the + icon to add a new user.
Invite mobileteampbp@gmail.com with Admin access.
📌 Why this matters: Granting admin access allows Playbypoint to submit builds, manage certificates, and handle future app updates on your behalf.
6. Complete the Private App Request Form
When your account is ready and Playbypoint has been added:
Fill out our Private App Request Form to notify us that we can start building your app.
This form also walks you through the final steps for setup and links to the article on Requesting API Permissions.
Additional Notes
Processing Time: Apple’s review and verification can take several business days.
