For some of our surveys, there will be multiple languages available. You as a club have the power to choose which languages you want to support for your members and guests.

There are two ways that multiple languages affect your settings:

  • The language of the survey that your respondents answer

  • The language of the invitation letter that your respondents receive.

Surveys in multiple languages

If your surveys are available in multiple languages you will be able to toggle off and on the languages, the respondents have available when answering your survey.

Navigating to your questionnaire editor

  1. Open the menu by clicking the hamburger icon in the top-right corner

  2. Click "Surveys" in the survey settings section of the menu.

  3. Select "Manage survey" in your survey overview for the survey you want to edit

  4. Scroll down and click "Edit questionnaire".

Toggling off/on a survey language

If you decide that this survey should not be available in multiple languages or that it should, you can choose to toggle it off/on.

  1. Open the basic survey info modal on the questionnaire editor page

  2. In the "Survey language" section, toggle off/on the languages you do want to have on or not.

  3. Click Save.

Toggling off a survey language will also make the invitation language unavailable. If a survey language is active you have the option to toggle on that language's invitation letter as well. In the above example, our respondents will be able to answer the survey in Suomi and Swedish and the invitation letter they will receive will only be in Suomi.

Having multiple invitation letters languages toggled on will create a combined invitation letter consisting of multiple languages. You can read more about multi-language invitation letters just below.

What the respondents see

When multiple languages are toggled on for the survey, the respondents will be able to select what language they see the survey in with a small selector on the front page of the questionnaire. In this case, the survey is in English, and clicking on English will allow the respondent to select another language.

Invitation letters in multiple languages

If your survey has toggled on multiple languages, you will be able to select what languages the invitation letter should include.

Please note that you can have the survey language toggled on without having to have the invitation language toggled on.

Navigating to your email invitation designer

  1. Open the menu by clicking the hamburger icon in the top-right corner

  2. Click "Surveys" in the survey settings section of the menu.

  3. Select "Manage survey" in your survey overview for the survey you want to edit

  4. Scroll down to 'Tweaking your survey design' and select "Edit invitation".

Toggling off/on an invitation letter language

Toggling an invitation letter language off or on is done on the invitation letter editor page. Toggling an invitation letter off will only remove it from the invitation email and not the survey that your respondents answer.

Instructions on how to toggle on/off an invitation language

  1. Go to the invitation letter editor page

  2. Select the invitation language you want to disable in the language selector above the editor and then click the "Edit Invitation" button

  3. In the modal that has now opened, toggle of the "Enable language" button

  4. Click Save.

  5. The invitation letter is now toggled off, please note that this is only for the invitation letter and that the survey language will still be toggled on.

The combined invitation letter

The combined invitation letter will be visible if your survey currently has more than one language available.

The combined invitation is what we use if you have multiple languages available and it is not directly editable as it is a byproduct of your toggled-on languages. To make changes to the combined you will have to change the individual languages invitation letter, as these are the ones the combined consists of.

In this example, toggling off Danish as an invitation letter language will remove it from the combined and you will only send out the English version.
