What are “Roll Over / Roll Under / Win Chance” and how do they affect the Multiplier in Dice?

Many Dice-style implementations allow you to specify a “roll-over” or “roll-under” numerical threshold instead of a direct multiplier. This threshold determines the Win Chance (probability) of the bet.

  • Inverse Relationship: The threshold (or win chance) is inversely linked to the payout multiplier.

    • Lower Win Chance (stricter threshold): Gives a higher multiplier (bigger reward) but makes winning less probable (higher risk).

    • Higher Win Chance (looser threshold): Gives a lower multiplier (smaller reward) but makes winning more probable (lower risk).

This relationship between risk (win chance) and reward (multiplier) is the central design mechanic of the Dice and Limbo games.

You are able to move the Roll Over button to have a lower win-chance or a higher win-change.

In the image, the Roll Over is set to 50, indicating that there’s an equal chance of winning or losing.
