If a LiDAR-enabled device is used to capture, you can quickly and accurately measure distances between two points using the Length/Distance | Line tool. This tool leverages LiDAR technology to capture precise spatial data, allowing you to take real-time point-to-point measurements without the need for manual measuring tools.

  • Navigate to your project. In the SmartPix tab, click the Length/Distance | Line tool. Then on the photo click your mouse, hold, and release to calculate and display the distance between two points.

This feature is especially useful for measuring the length of walls, fences, driveways, or other outdoor structures with a high level of accuracy. The LiDAR sensor ensures that measurements remain consistent even on uneven surfaces or in areas with limited visibility.

Annotate and Save

If you want to get a report of the measurements you added, head over to the Tools | Annotations box to the right of your image, create a custom tag and then click Save. You can then use the export button to generate an updated Pro Report. Click here to see how to Export Assets. The Pro Report will list out the photos with annotation details and measurements. This makes it especially easy if you're handing off the project to another participant or if you will be incorporating it in the estimation data.

And that's it!
