At this time, staircases are delivered as photo-only assets.
This means they will not be automatically modeled as 3D or included in the schematic outputs—yet! We’re excited to share that stair modeling is on our roadmap, and we’re actively working toward adding this feature in a future release.
In the Meantime:
How to Document Stairs
If you'd like to prepare for this upcoming enhancement—or simply ensure the clearest documentation of a stair area—we recommend using the Capture Interior | Room option to document the stairs. Here's how:
Initiate an Interior Capture session. Label the room as “Stairs / Stairway” during the Room Creation step to keep your project organized.
Start at the bottom of the staircase and work your way up. Capture the floor corners by your feet, then use the Layout Video sequence to record walking up the steps. Get clear floor to ceiling shots when possible to get a complete overview of the start of the stairs.
Be sure to include turns, landings, and transitions between floors.
End the video at the top of the staircase.
Use “Add Extra Photos” for additional angles or details as needed.
While this method won’t create a 3D stair model yet, it provides your team or reviewer with strong visual context and ensures continuity once stair modeling becomes available.
Stay tuned for updates—we’ll be announcing the stair capture enhancement soon!
