Plnar technology automatically turns each photo captured via our apps into a measurable canvas. Quickly pull finite details not captured through standardized reporting through the SmartPix measurement console.

Check out the video tutorial below to learn more!

How to get into SmartPix

There are a few ways you can get to the SmartPix measuring canvas:

  • SmartPix tab. Open your project and click on the SmartPix Tab. Once there, you'll be taken to the first photo of the project. The photos will be arranged in the order in which they were captured and organized by room or Album.

  • Details tab: In the Model Viewer located within the Details tab, click on one of the cameras in the model to bring up the photo. Then click on the photo that appears at the right of the model to open it up in SmartPix.

  • Photos tab: If you're viewing photos, click on the "Open in SmartPix" button at the top right of the screen which takes you directly to that photo in SmartPix.

Interior Rooms

-Measuring the ceiling or floor:

  • Users can use the line Length / Distance | Line or rectangle Area | Rectangle tool under the Take measurements section to measure the floor or ceiling.

-Measuring a wall or vertical plane:

  • Create a virtual wall, a plane to measure upon, using the Vertical Canvas | Virtual Wall tool

  • Draw your baseline using the seams of the room or base boards to guide you. Doing so puts you in the same plane as that wall.

  • Once created, use the virtual wall as a canvas, and use the Length / Distance | Line or Area | Rectangle tools to pull measurements as needed.

Exterior Areas

If you are using a LiDAR enabled device, you can also use the Length / Distance | Line tool to take point to point measurements of exterior areas! Click here to learn more.

Annotate and Save

If you want to get a report of the measurements you added, head over to the Tools | Annotations box to the right of your image, create a custom tag and then click Save. You can then use the export button to generate an updated Pro Report. Click here to see how to Export Assets. The Pro Report will list out the photos with annotation details and measurements. This makes it especially easy if you're handing off the project to another participant or if you will be incorporating it in the estimation data.

*Update:*

You can now Annotate Damage!
