The field mapping process is the stage at which you determine which pieces of information from the source application should be allocated to each field in the destination application.
Whenever you want, you can access your field mapping and make the necessary changes so that the information is sent as expected.
Accessing it is very simple! Just follow the steps below:
Access your dashboard and choose the "My Automations" option:
Find the automation you want to modify the mapping for and click "Edit":
On this page, you will have access to the same settings as when you first created it.
Keep in mind that as long as the automation is still in draft mode, before it is published, you can modify all fields. However, after publishing, some fields can no longer be changed, such as:
❌ Source app and trigger;
❌ Target app and trigger;
❌ Connected app accounts, both source and target.
Aside from these, you can modify the following settings (both in the source and destination tools):
✔️ Filters
✔️ Settings
✔️ Mapping
💡 Tip! You can also navigate through the mapping using the structured flow in the left sidebar. Simply click on the step you want to go directly to it:
Access the steps you want to modify:
Now comes the mapping stage, where you set up exactly which information from the source app will be sent to each field in the target app. To edit them, click on the field or on "Customize info" and select the desired information.
You will find all the fields from the source app that can be captured by the automation and sent to the target app.
It’s important to carefully analyze all the information in this list to understand everything you can extract from the source tool and send to the destination tool. 😉
⭐ Custom fields and information
In the list of information from your source app, under "INSERT INFO" you may find some fields with a star (⭐) next to them. This indicates that these are custom-created fields in your source app.
Additionally, within the mapping itself, you might also see some yellow fields with a ⭐ at the beginning. These are the custom fields of your target app.
⚠️ These are custom fields that already exist in your source or target apps. In other words, for these fields to appear, you must have already created them in their respective apps. This way, they are reflected here in the mapping.When you finish configuring the fields you want, click on “Update Automation” and voilà ! 💃
After that, your new events will be processed using the updated configuration.
Please note that editing your mapping does not affect previously processed events—only those processed afterward.
