What is VAT reverse change?

Our platform operator, Last Mile Solutions (trading name of Threeforce B.V.), has recently made an important update regarding invoicing.

Since 1 July, they have offered a new service that allows EV drivers with a valid VAT number from the country of purchase to receive their invoices with VAT reverse charge. This means that VAT is transferred to the customer instead of being invoiced by the supplier.

What does this mean?

  • B2B Transactions: This scheme only applies to B2B transactions. This means that both the supplier and the customer must be companies and originate from two different European countries.

  • Reverse VAT Settlement: Business customers with a valid VAT number in the country where the transaction took place will receive an invoice where the VAT settlement is reversed. This means that the customer is responsible for calculating and remitting the VAT to their own tax authorities.
